Bountiful

Ya know what, for the first time in my life (well from the time when I was allowed to choose my own clothes), I bought clothes at a “normal” shop. Well, it’s the biggest size there but still.. it’s a great feeling that I was able to buy clothes at the shop. It’s nothing fancy, just a blouse. A voile blouse. It’s cute, at least I think so. hehe *blushes*. :p
This is the blouse. I just love the details at the front. hehe.
For someone who has been “bountiful” all her life, I didn’t really have much choice in clothes. As long as it can fit me, I’ll buy it. It doesn’t really matter if it’s men’s clothing. Not only for clothes, but shoes as well. I can’t be too choosy. Shopping for clothes with girlfriends was heartbreaking. Shoe shopping was bearable since I used to believe we'll be fine with just one pair of shoes. hahah not nowadays!!! :P But clothes, were my biggest weakness. There are dresses, jeans, blouses of many varieties, skirts, you name it. I was just an observer, waiting for my friends while trying their clothes and giving my opinions on how they looked like. However, these “limitations” made me a more open person; I do not stick to one style or became a fashion victim. I wear what I want to wear (appropriate according to occassions of course). I have to be confident and love myself because I feel that if I am not confident about myself and love myself; it won’t show on the outside and if yourself doesnt love your ownself, who would? However, at the same time, I am still a shy girl and a bit reserved around people (though some might not believe it :P)
As time goes by, I had more choices, luckily with these new plus sizes brands. I felt relieved that finally I have choices in clothes. Even so, most of these plus sizes brands are more expensive than the normal shops. I envied other girls buying clothes at a fraction of the price I paid for my clothes. They can buy 2 pieces, at least for the same price as I bought 1 of mine. It’s heavy on my pockets. Shoes are worst than clothes. Although there are my sizes but they are way expensive and boring!!!! *sigh* I hope more “plus sizes” shoes come here, for giants like me. Going to normal shops, other than accompanying my loved ones, is a no-no. I loved going into the shops because it was always nice and beautiful but it was sometimes embarrassing to me as I know there are no clothes for myself. So yesterday, when I went into the shop with Ain and found some clothes for myself, it was liberating. Hehehe. Not only one, but I have quite a number of choices and I even said no to some of them because “it’s too long” or “it’s too big” or “I don’t like the design or colour or material”. *giggles* I even tried a tube dress – purple, flowery, cute! Just to see if I can fit into it.. I can! but of course it didn’t look nice. Hahahah. The dress was nice but not on me. :P. But I had fun trying on clothes and window shopping with Ain. BUT!!! still!! i can't help it when I looked at Ain wearing that black and green dress, i was green with envy! I want a dress like that!!! :P
So anyway, my biggest achievement of 2008, was losing some or more kgs. *blushes* I feel better, I feel more confident, I am happier. I’ve got a long way to go though. I have been slacking for the past couple of (or 3) months (:P) and I think the waist of my jeans felt a little bit tight now. LOL. Oh well. I just love food and the past few months I have been “celebrating” – festive season, birthdays. Hehehe. I need to get back on track and the experience last night makes me more optimistic. I am setting my own pace. Slowly, but consistent. Like my brother Upiq said to me, eat less than what you used to, exercise more than what you used to.
