Impromptu Activity After Work
I received an interesting assignment yesterday morning from my boss. SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahaah… I was to assist my manager to find some souvenir for our partners from Russia. My boss asked us to go look for batik tie, scarves and books about Malaysia. So off we went, from Central Market (CM) to Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur to Medan Tuanku to CM again and then lastly to KLCC to buy books from Kinokuniya. I know now where to find batik silk tie. hahaha. It was not easy to find ya know! The ones we found in CM were really nice quality and pretty design.
Anyway, that’s not the point. Hahaha. When I told Ain about it (going to CM etc), she got excited and wanted to go again to Kompleks Kraf eventho we just went to Kompleks Kraf on Tuesday and CM too. So she picked me up from work, then we went to Kompleks Kraf first, had a great time browsing to our Malaysian crafts and the Kerja Kawin exhibition (to get ideas for Ain's upcoming wedding :P). We were like oohh and aaahing and oggling those beautiful decorations for the dais and bedroom and everything lah!!! So grand!!
Then we went to CM, close to buying a really pretty sling bag each but somehow ended up not buying. Save money! HAHAHAH. But, I’ve been thinking about the bag, and I think we would definitely go back to CM soon. We love all the pretty and vibrant colours there, all varieties of Malaysia crafts, all those knick knacks… I haven’t been there in ages (earlier that morning I didn't really have time to browse around except looking for batik), so I enjoyed myself and it was such a pleasant visit there, looking at how nice looking CM now. We came out from CM empty handed but good feeling excpet with growling tummy.
Sebok akak ni memilih.. hahah tapi tak beli pun!
Cantikkan CM skrg? Section ni little india kot dia panggil
Excited lagi tgk brg. Beli nye tak!
Yang ni paling lama tapi tak beli jugak!!!! hahaha. baik abg2 tu kat sana. heheh.
We made our way home and thought about what to eat. Then we remembered this one place we heard people talked about, so we decided to check it out. We pass through this stall everyday but never had the chance to try. The place is at Jalan Peel, Cheras just by the roadside near Carrefour. The place is known for its satay and penang char kuey teow. We ordered char kuey teow each (large plate for RM4.50, normal for RM3.50) and 10 sticks of satay (5 beef, 5 chicken – RM7 including the nasi impit).
Ya know what, the CKT was delicious. It's not like the chinese style the dry one (which I prefer) but this is the one that looks like it has gravy. I usually like the dry version but this one is very nice... so I wouldnt mind having it again. Simple, yet very tasty.. there were about 3 prawns inside. LOL. We took the large plate each. Hahaha. And the satay? I think no wonder the place is packed and talked about. The satay was so juicy, and sweet and nice lah! The peanut sauce was also thick and tasted just the way it supposed to be. A little bit spicy, but i like it.
the char kuey teow

That's the stall. Go try have some. Hope you'll like them
So there we went, an impromptu activity after work. haha. With full tummy, we drove home, satisfied with our window shopping and dinner. hahah.
