Confessions of a Kan Cheong Girl
I am a kan cheong girl.
Do you know what kan cheong means? My friend May Chew said that kan cheong is an expression in Cantonese to mean something like, over eager, anxious, over excited, impatient in waiting something something like that. :P

You want an example?
Well, today is the official release date of the movie Twilight on DVD. So the usual kan cheong me, want to have the DVD today. I saw the poster at my fave bookstore, Times that there will be a release on 21st. So I was excited about it. It doesn't really hurt to wait for another day or week or even a month since well, I have seen it in cinema 4 times already. But, no, no.. it won't be kan cheong lah kan to wait for another day. I just have to have it. Ya know? I don't know how to describe the feeling. I don't even care if other people know what I am getting or doing. It just give me the personal satisfaction to have it the first or oh i dont know. hahahah. Its the same thing, with the release of my favourite movie or book, I just have to see or get it the day of its release. I sometimes take the day off work, to ya know, satisfy my kan cheong need. lol.
So back to the Twilight DVD. So I went off to get the DVD (during office hours okay because I am too lazy to go after work). My workplace is just about less than 10 mins walking distance to Pavilion and my fave bookstore. So I went, with all my kan cheong glory to get the DVD (thanks to my friend Syida for accomodating to my kan cheongness). Went straight to the customer service counter and asked for the DVD. Then was informed by the sales clerk that the release is postponed to 24th. What the heck??? Yesterday it was 21st, now it's 24th?? Aiyaaaa.. lukcy, I am not an angry person. I didnt stomp my feet there. hahaha. I just went back to work, empty handed and felt a lil bit disappointed. Felt a bit silly too for being kan cheong about the whole thing, but, the if not kan cheong than that won't be me. lol. For me as long it doesn't hurt me or people around me, it's fine. HAH!
Oh well, am I going to get it on 24th? What do you think?
