Oh well. A girl got to do what a girl got to do right?

I am having a cold. It's no fun! I don't like! Ugh. But this morning (it's a public holiday btw), Ain kidnapped me. lol. Ain wanted to buy a present for her friend at work so I just tagged along.

Both of us actually are not feeling well, but we had a satisfying trip and very quick one.

Anyway, we had a nice lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. It was my second visit and Ain's first time.

Use this sign to call the waiter.. blue - run forrest run, means that you don't need any assistance.. but red - stop forrest (x remember) means that you require assistance. cute eh?

My first time (sometime in July last year) wasn't really good experience. I don't know why, maybe because of the dishes chosen. They didnt really "excite" my tastebuds. They are just, shrimps. lol. I think i had the bucket 1/4 pound shrimps and the Shrimp Heaven or something (it has 4 different types of shrimps). This time around was a better experience and make me want to come here again. But the price is quite heavy on the pocketslah (we paid about RM40 each for our lunch).

This time, we tried the favourites on the menu.. The Cajun Shrimps (under the appertiser) and the Baramundi with shrimps and really yummy mashed potatoes ( i didnt remember the name). The Cajun Shrimp is shrimps in cajun spice served with garlic bread. We dunk the bread in the oily stuff and its was yummy. lol. The shrimps were grilled i think then these wonderful spicy sauce is drizzled on the shrimps. No wonder this is the favourite (I saw it on several other tables). It was nice contrast to our main. The main was pretty awesome too. It has the baramundi, huge scoop of mashed potatoes and of course the shrimps and creamy sauce. I forgot the name but it has baramundi and bourbon in the name. I asked the waiter if they put the real bourbon in the dish before we decided to order it, but was informed that it was just a name and the restaurant is halal, so no need to worry about liquour in our food. :) To wash this down, I had a mango juice thingy which AWESOME and fresh!! It was recommended by the waiter.. perfect to complement the meal. Ain had a blueberry smoothie. It was nice but I think it's too heavy.

We were both happy and satisfied with our choices.

Btw, while you are there, the waiters will come to you and asked if you have seen Forrest Gump. Why? Because the restaurant is based on Forrest Gump. They will asked some questions about Forrest Gump (the answers can be found around the restaurant.. just have to know where to look) and also play some tricks with you - this is to occupy you while waiting for your order. Cute eh (but after awhile it's kinda annoying hahahaha). They have their own source of entertainment. lol. I love the "friendliness" of the restaurant. I am not sure if this is the usual style (made me wonder if they can do this during peak hours) but I think I am glad I got to exprience it today. Oh, you can even buy some stuff at the souvenir shop, with cute t-shirts with quotes from the movie and tumblers, fridge magnets etc. And oh yeah, almost forgot! I love the quotes they put on the table too. Nice touch!

One thing about this place is that, it didn't really have many choices other than shrimp. For those of you who can't eat shrimp or doesn't like shrimp, I guess this is not the place for you. The desserts looks yummy, one of it called Chocolate Chip Cookie thingy, from the pic the choc chip cookie is huge!!Didnt order it cuz it was too much for the both of us and we were very full anyway. Hope to try it next time.

So anyway, had a nice experience here at Bubba Gump and like Forrest Gump used to say, "My mama said, life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you gonna get". So, try at least. :-)
