A Little Get Away
It felt like the weekend started early for me, last weekend i mean. hehe. I had to go to Lumut for work, but I took Ain along since I have to go alone. Ain is on her study leave, so she was more than willing to accompany me. hehe. Thanks ain.
Despite the sucky things that happened on the way to Lumut on Thursday, I’ve decided I don’t want to think about it and spoil the sacrifice that Ain made just to accompany me on my work trip to Lumut. This is the first trip to Lumut that I was so excited about and it felt different. I am proud to show Ain what I do, and she was impressed with what I do, I mean what my company does. Yes we built ships and repair ships and other stuff. Lol. So anyway, arrived the hotel at around 930pm, checked in, freshen up, then we went out to dinner. Nothing much to do in Lumut at night and both of us were tired too, so when we went back to the hotel, Ain fell asleep almost immediately. Study konon. Lol. Both of us had a long and tiring day. Anyway, I was having a really bad sore throat and took a little bit of time for me to fall asleep.
Next morning came and took ain out for breakfast. Nothing fancy, just some mamak fare. Send Ain back to hotel so she can study, and I pushed off to my meeting. My sore throat got worse and I even lost a bit of voice during the meeting, so I didn’t talk much. Luckily, there was not much to explain, they accepted most of the terms so I just did some amendments on the laptop. Meeting adjourned at 1230 pm and I rushed back to hotel, picked ain up andddddddddddddd we bought ferry tickets to Pulau Pangkor! Hehehe. I’ve been to Lumut so many times before but never had the opportunity to take a bit of time off to ya know, enjoy a bit. It was just a silly trip, from Lumut Jetty to Pangkor Jetty and walk around the Pangkor town a little bit, but it was pretty good. Ya know, just to get away with a friend. We had lunch at this tiny café near the Lumut jetty, it was pretty nice. Then we board the ferry at 2:15pm. The journey took about 30 minutes to Pangkor. The next jetty from Pangkor to Lumut is at 330pm, so we decided to take a walk to the Pangkor town while waiting for the ferry. The Pangkor jetty was under construction so it wasn’t nice. If we have more time, I think we would have rent the bikes or whatever and take a ride around the island. Hmm maybe next time. We were thinking of maybe go for a little holiday there. So anyway, there’s not much in Pangkor town, its very tiny, and got the usual touristy shops, souvenirs, the dry fish shop etc. We got back on the jetty to Lumut at 330pm reached Lumut jetty around 4pm. Then we started our journey back, stopped by at the dry fish shop to buy some stuff there to bring home.
The best thing about this trip is that the time spent with a good friend. Ain is rare. I can’t find a friend like her everywhere. I am lucky to have a friend like Ain. We talked and talked and talked and never tired of talking. I see a little bit of me in her. Maybe that’s why we clicked so much. Being with Ain on this little trip, made me realize that sometimes, friends don’t need to do extraordinary things, just being a friend is extraordinary enough.

ReplyDeleteim so so so so flattered and feel like cryinggg man...damn..this is something so nice to read and so nice feelings to have especially when there is 1 person we know as 'kakak ipar tak jadi' turn out to be so called 'kawan chatting borak' and now end up to be part of my life..a friend and additional elder sister to me..hehe..i love u kak jan *hugs*
